Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission conforms to Ethical Standards in Research Publications; such as but not limited to ethics review, written consent, government permits as applicable.
- Declaration of Competing Interest is included in the manuscript
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
Research Articles
1. Articles should be original and must not be under consideration for any other publication.
2. Articles should be as long as b 4,000 to 6,000 words from Introduction to Conclusion. Longer articles will be returned to the authors for trimming.
3. The parts of a research article are as follows:
Title
Abstract: 150-200 words
Keywords: 5-10 words
Introduction: (1-2 pages)which includes background, problem, and purpose of the study
Literature Review: (3-6 pages); citing at least 20 primary sources – like journals articles; 50% of which are publications in the last 5-10 years;
Theoretical or Conceptual Framework: 1 page
Research Questions
Methodology: Design, Sampling, Data Collection and Instruments, Data Analysis, Ethical Considerations, Reflexivity (applies to qualitative research only)
Results and Discussion
Conclusion
Acknowledgment (optional)
References: minimum of 20; at least 50% of which must be from last 5-10 years
4. Manuscripts should be double-spaced, except for Notes and References, which are single-spaced. Articles must be typed in Times New Roman, size 12, and a one-inch margin on all sides in an A4 paper.
5. Manuscripts should be submitted in doc or docx files at www.lnu.edu.ph/lnujournals/index.php/jes.
6. Notes, tables, graphs, photographs, illustrations, and figures should be kept minimum. Lengthier parts can be submitted separately, will be published ‘online only’ (and not in printed volume), and referenced only in the main manuscript.
7. References and in-text citations should strictly follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition (APA 7th starting 2022).
Theoretical Papers
1. Articles should be original and must not be under consideration for any other publication.
2. Articles should be as long as b 4,000 to 6,000 words from Introduction to Conclusion. Longer articles will be returned to the authors for trimming.
3. All theoretical manuscripts must have the following:
Title
Abstract: 150-200 words
Keywords: 5-10 words Abstract
Introduction: (1-2 pages)which includes background, problem, and purpose of the study
Heading 1 (for the First Section of your Manuscript). 3-6 major sections with subheadings if necessary, and logical presentation of the sections.
Conclusion
Acknowledgment: (Optional)
